    Notes:
    Bessie was born in Tara, Ontario, Canada and moved with their family in
    1896to a farm near Souris, ND. She married Asa on June 27, 1917. They
    moved toBismarck, ND in 1919, to Lisbon, ND in 1937 and to Elendale, ND
    in 1947. Bessie and Asa are buried at Ellendale, ND.
    Bessie was born in Tara, Ontario, Canda and moved with her family to a
    farm north-west of Souris, ND. in 1896.
    She attened rural school near her home, later in Souris, and graduated
    from Bottineau High School in
    1913. She recieved her Teacher?s Certificate from Valley City Teacher?s
    College in 1915.
    She taught school before and during thefirst years of her marriage, when
    her husband was in the Army during the
    First World War.
    They moved to Bismarck, ND in 1919, to Lison, ND in 1937, ad to
    Ellendale, ND, in 1947.
    She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star, belonged to the American Legion
    Auxiliary and woman?s clubs in
    Bismarck, Lisbon, and Ellendale, and were active in the Methodist Church
    in each city.
    She inherited her mother?s love for flowers and spent many hours in her
    yards, planting and taking care of her
    flowers.
    She and Asa are buried in Ellendale City Cemetery, Ellendale, North
    Dakota.
