the Oklahoma City directories. I know that at least by 1928/29he could fly
a plane--he probably worked on them, too, since he was amechanic. By 1937,

Gertrude F. Yerington, 94, of 102 Nyenhuis St. Muscatine, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998 at Muscatine General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mathias Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jack Gallagher and Charles Gannon officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine, where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday evening. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Muscatine. Memorials may be made to the Gertrude F. Yerington Memorial Fund. Pallbearers will be David Brockert, Brian Yerington, James Yerington Jr., Mike Harris, John Yerington, Daniel Yerington, Jeremy Yerington and Dick Yerington.
Mrs. Yerington was born on Nov. 22, 1903, in Cedar County, the daughter of William & Victoria Miller Everett. She married Charles W. Yerington on February 4, 1921 in Tipton. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and great grandmother and an avid gardener. She was a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church and the Alter and Rosary society.
She is survived by two sons, Leo E. and his wife Carol Yerington of Muscatine and James W. and his wife Rosalee Yerington of Muscatine; two daughters, Kathleen and her husband Keith Brockert of Muscatine and Gertrude P. Yerington of Muscatine; 37 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and a brother, Louis Everett of Tipton.
