Corbley was in the Civil War in the infantry and was also in MontantVolunteers in 1865. While on duty in the Army, he was thrown from a horseand broke a leg. Corbley became an alcholic and was treated at theSoldiers Home in St. Joseph, Montana. He received a pension for hisservice 22 Sep 1914 - 22 days before he died.
