19407 !NOTES: While in Salem, Isaac's occupation was that of a weaver, following
in the family tradition. In 1681, Isaac moved his family to the town
of Enfield, MA, which was newly established. This town later became
Enfield, CT, in 1750. There he build a fulling mill and continued
his clothier occupation. The "History of Enfield" says that,
"Captain Isaac Meacham was one of the most useful and enterprising
settlers of Enfield. . .
He was a Clothier by trade and built a fulling mill in 1688."
In addition, Isaac represented Enfield in the House of
Representatives for Massachusetts, 28 May 1707 to 6 December 1707.

! His will was dated l August 1704 and probated 7 September 1715.

H.C. 1710, the first minister of Coventry 1713.

He was educated at Harvard College where he received the degree of A.M.
in 1710. He became a minister of the gospel at the First Church of
Coventry, Windham, CT, in 1713; ordained 18 October 1714; and where
he remained in charge until 1752.

Some sources list his birth as Connecticut--boundary changes: Enfield
became part of Connecticut in 1750.

1836, Aug 26, "DAR Patriot Index" lists death date, other sources say he died in Sturgis, Michigan, which would indicate he died enroute to Cass Co., Michigan

Hannah Potter (Beecher) (1600-1639) came from County Kent, England to Boston, Mass in 1637 with sons. Physician and midwife, received grant of land at New Haven, Conn. Hannah was the widow of John Beecher who died in 1637 - the same year she emmigrated.




Note: The will of Hannah Beecher was proved April 5, 1659, and is recorded in first part, vol. i., p. 80, of New
Haven Probate Records, as follows:

"I Hannah Beacher of New Haven, expectying my great change do make this my last will and testament, I bequeath my soul unto the hands of my Lord Jesus Christ by whose meritt I hope to be saved and my body to be burried at the discretion of my Son
William Potter my Executor. And for my worldly goods I give unto John Potter my Grand child twenty shillings and to Hannah Blackly, my Grand child, wife to Samuel Blackly, twenty shillings, And to Samuel Potter my Grand child twenty shillings to be paid to them within three months after my decease. And for the rest of my estate I give one third part to my son Isaac Beacher and two thirds to my eldest son William Potter, making him my Executor, desiring him to be as a father to his
younger brother and his children. And in dividing my goods my will is that my son William should have my feather bed with that belongeth to it, unto his part and that the rest be divided at the discretion of my Overseers with the assistance of Sister
Wakeman and sister Rutherford and I desire
