1. Alexander is probably the father or the brother of John G. Patterson. Alexander is in the 1850 and 1860 census on the same page (in Saint Francois Co, Missouri census records) as Eliza Andrews (who John married). Eliza is in both census as a child. Two of Eliza's sibs (Wm & Margaret Pinkston) are also in the 1860 census in the same area as married adults. If Alexander isn't John G Patterson's father, he us surely his uncle. - although the "calculated" dates put alexander's wife (nancy) at 14 when john g. would be born, potentially a negative.

1. Name on census spelled Loranzo but in other records it is spelled with an "e" - Lorenzo. (1910 Saint Genevieve Co., Missouri census, p 259, age 40)
2. Lorenzo was nicknamed "B", committed suicide on Mack & Allie Patterson's farm; was married according to obit, no names for survivors listed: "He leaves to mourn his sad departure his wife, son son and two daughters, residents of St. Louis."
3. Lorenzo B. Patterson 7-32
Committed Suicide
On Brother’s Farm
Lorenzo B. Patterson, better known as “B” Patterson of Bonne Terre route one committed suicide by shooting himself through the head, Thursday afternoon, July 14 at the home of his brother, Mack Patterson, route one, with whom he had been making his home for approximately the past year.
Mr. and Mrs. Mack Patterson had been in Bonne Terre shopping, leaving the former’s brother at their home with their two daughters, and had just returned when the accident occurred. Mr. Patterson was writing a note when they came in, and after finishing same, walked over to the dresser, where he secured a revolver from one of the drawers and walked around to the side of the house. His brother noticing his actions, followed him, but reached him too late as he had already shot himself through the head.
A coroners inquest was held at the Patterson residence following the accident and returned a verdict “Self inflicted gunshot wounds”.
Lorenzo B. Patterson, son of the late John G. Patterson and Eliza J. Andrews Patterson was born July 19, 1869, and at the time of his departure was sixty-three years, one month and twenty-six days of age. He leaves to mourn his sad departure his wife, one son and two daughters, residents of St. Louis, and his brother Mack of route one.
The deceased resided in St. Louis before coming to this vicinity to make his home with his brother, but before living in St. Louis, he had at several different times been a Lead Belt resident.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at three o’clock at Aulsbury Chapel with the Rev. Hambrick officiating.
Interment was made in the Aulsbury cemetery, with the Benham Undertaking Company in charge. | Lorenzo Barrett ("B") PATTERSON
