~CORRESPONDENCE: Looking over the website zodiacal etc brooklyn I see my Father Martin Chmura and my Mother Victoria. Victoria's maiden name is incorrect she is in no way related to the Gasior's. We as a family have no connection with the Gasiors although they & their family were close neighbors. My Mother's maiden name was Piatkiewicz and she also came from Poland.
Please make this correction and confirm.
Irene Chmura
rene3722@aol.com
(note -- Irene wrote back and told me there were no Piatkiewicz relatives in Cleveland.)
OBIT: CHMURA, VICTORIA : Wife of late Martin (Obit.). Plain Dealer 21 Dec, 1988, pg. 04 sec. D
SOURCE_OF_NAME:
The GANSIOR or GASIOR surname was used because of a ship manifest entry for Jan GANSIOR who entered the U.S. on Aug 14, 1922. In that listing, Jan had specified that his destination was his brother-in-law, Martin Chmura of 3722 W.14th St., Cleveland, Ohio. He also specified that his father's name was Wojciech Gansior. NOTE: On her son's (Theodore) marriage license, his parents are listed as Victoria PIATKIEWICZ and Martin Chmura. Theodore's address is listed as 3722 W.14th. So is she NOT a GASIOR then? Or was it a mistake? Or had she been married to a GASIOR? | Victoria PIATKIEWICZ
