Hattie was born completely deaf. As a result she could not speak - My father, George William Russell, remembers spending a great deal of time with his Aunt Hattie. Although she couldn't hear or speak, Hattie was a consummate lip-reader (anda Hell of a card player). Dad tells of going to see silent films with her and she would be cackling in glee before the captions emerged on the screen. She hadalready lip-read the actors. -RDR 12/02

Message: Judy Is Chynava the same as Chynov? That is where my family is from. I only have my GGGM's name and her parents. My 2xGGM was Juliana Prochazka, daughter of Jan and Anna (Stejskala) Prochazka. Juliana was b. Dec 25, 1845 and died in 1913. 4 of her 7 children came to America (Cleveland, Ohio).
