Possible other marriages to Martha Pennington Dille, dgtr of Nehemiah and Betsey Dille, in 1841, and Isabel McIlrath, dgtr of Alexander and Rhoda Condit McIlrath (both of these marriages occurred in Cuyahoga County, Ohio). Another possibility is that Benjamin had a son of the same name and it was HE that married Martha. She was born in 1824. Isabel McIlrath was probably born at least a decade or two earlier.
He was married to Mary M. (surname unknown) during the 1840's as her name appears on several property deeds as his wife. | Benjamin SAWTELL

[FROM THE THAYER AND BURTON ANCESTRY info]
Thomas Sayles, the son of John and Elizabeth [Olney] Sayles, was born at Providence,r.i. Feb. 9, 1699.
He married Esther Scott, dtr of Silvanus and Joanna[Jenckes] Scott Dec. 14, 1721. He settled in Smithfield, in 1731, where he accumulated quite an estate. He acted as moderator of the town for 6 years. He was also the town clerk for 9 yeasr, was 2 years a member of the town council, and 3 times a chosen deputy. He died, Nov. 9, 1754, leaving an estate with high value. His farm was, in 1894, known
as 'Durrans farm' and was situated about a mile east of Primrose railroad station, on the western slope of Sayles Hill, midway between that road and the 'white' school-house. About a 1/4 mile back of the house, up in the lots to the east, the writer found the graves of both Thomas and his wife, Esther. The burial lot was enclosed by a substantial stone-wall and near the entrance was a huge boulder. The inscriptions were still clearly discernible. | Thomas SAYLES
