P.R. 133. Could this be her birthdate entered at a later date. Thiswould
correspond to her given age at death in 1831, age 31 years. There is no
listing of a Lydia Standley born in Wenham at that time, if she was bornin
Wenham. There is listed in Beverly, Standly, Lydia, d. Nehemiah andLucy,
Feb. 15, 1800. This corresponds to the date listed under Groce forLydia. I
believe from this information, the two Lydias are the same. This could
account for her naming her daughter Lucy Dodge, her mother's maiden
name.

The suffix -owicz or -ewicz means "son of," so this name means "son of Stanek" or "son of Stanko." These are both nicknames or diminutives of the name Stanisl~aw (in English Stanislaus), a very ancient and popular first name in Poland; Poles loved to take the first syllable of popular first names, drop off the rest, and add suffixes (not unlike our "Eddy" from "Edward").
