Hamilton, N. Y.; married, by Rev. Samuel J. Liggon, Rosabelle Aeolian
Davis, Oct. 16, 1869, at Lynchburg, Va. Rosabelle was a daughter of
Thomas R. Davis, an extensive planter of Appamattox Co., Va. Mr. Taylor
married (second) Mrs. Margaret (Jones) Daniell (widow of a Confederate
officer), Sept. 11, 1883, in St. Louis, Mo. Married by Rev. J. P. T.
Ingraham, brother of the author of "The Prince of the House of David."
Margaret was a daughter of Welsh parents, Thomas and Hannah Jones, and
was born March 14, 1847,in Carbondale, Pa. Mrs. Taylor died June 7,
1905, in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Taylorlearned the printer's trade; has been
a journalist and proof-reader, studiedmedicine, pharmacy and law; was in
the class of '69 of Chicago University, butdid not graduate because of
ill health, caused by the hardships of army life.Was in the Civil War
from the fall of Fort Sumter.

He was Justice of the Peace in Charlestown, RI in May 1838.
He wasan Ensign in the 1st Light Infantry Co. in the 2ndRegiment of the Rhode IslandMilitia in May 1829.

Martha Adelaide Taylor was deaf and mute. She was raped by a neighboringmarried farmer (tradition says a Mr. Brown). She gave birth to Mary Annwhen she was 15 years old. Her fathers second wife raised Mary Ann andAdelaide went on to marry another mute she had met at the school for thedeaf.

He is no doubt the Nathan Taylor of New Berlin, Chemung Co., NYwho shows up on the Federal Census Records there from 1820-1830.
The following sons are most probably his:

had died by that time.
He was mentioned in SMITH's "History of Chenango Co. [NY] (1880)as being "an
industrious farmer", a Justice of the Peace, and a Judge of theCourt of Common Pleas. He was the first postmaster in South NewBerlin, NY and held that position until 1830. | Nathan TAYLOR
