      Bob went to Newkirk High School in Newkirk, Kay Co, Oklahoma. He wen
      t into the Army in 1942serving in heavy construction of Signal Cor
      p in Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He served under General George Patton
      . Bob received five battle stars during his service. He was discharg
      ed in 1946 at Ft Smith, Sebastian Co, Arkansas.Bob went to work i
      n the oil field until about 1965. At that time, he took uppipe fitt
      ing and worked until 1971. His next major job was at Newera Flour Mil
      l in Arkansas City, Kansas for 14 years and retired in 1985.

      Robert L. Chapman, 80, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Monday, Jul
      y 30, 2001 at his home. Graveside Services will be hels at 10 AM o
      n Thursday, August 2, 2001 at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City, KS
      . Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1, 2001 from 3PM until 8PM a
      t the Hawks Memorial Chapel. A memorial has been established with Hos
      pice, Inc. and may be sentin care of the funeral home.
      Robert was born November 11, 1920, in Newkirk, Kay Co, OK to LeRoy Er
      vin and Addie Lorinna (Bell) Chapman. He graduated fromNewkirk HS i
      n 1940, then joined the Army and served in WWII. Robert marriedAdd
      a Louise Scruggs in 1954. Robert retired from ADM as an oil field pi
      pefitter.
      Robert is survived by 2 sons, Danny of the home and Steven of Newkirk
      , OK, 2 daughters, Patty Hare of Olathe, KS & Bonnie Nulik of Arkansa
      s City, 1 brother, Theodore of Newkirk; 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great G
      randchildren.
