As previously noted, no trace of him has ever been found after hisdisappearance. There is a puzzling reference in the Mass. Rec. ofRevolutionary soldiers, to a Peleg "Pendleton" of Bridgewater, whose nameappears in a list of men raised to serve in the Continental Army fromCol. Mitchell's 3rd Plymouth County Regt., as returned agreeable to orderof Council of 7 Nov 1777; he was engaged for the town of Bridgewater, andjoined Capt. J. Allin's Co., Col. Bailey's Regt., to serve three years.No records of a Peleg Pendleton appears upon the Bridgewater town books,however, nor upon the records of Plymouth County.
