1 NOTE "Old Tobe: Some Lines of Descent of Tobias SAUNDERS of Westerly,Rhode Island"; by Earl P. Crandall; Higginson Book Co.; 1995, p55, 96.
RIGR 1:26 -- he was in Brookfield, NY by 25 Oct 1819.
 NBV:VARS' Records; Vol I, pp 33-37.
At the end of Nelson B. VARS' entry on this family (written in1882), he makes the following observation and comment: "And mayI be pardoned if I feel like asking the question: 'Why have noneof this bright intelligent family of sisters never married?' Toa New England Yankee it is a mystery hard to solve!"
This quote probably says more about Nelson B. Vars than it doesabout the
 personalities of the SAUNDERS sisters!!
