  • Notes 
    • At the time of the Revolutionary War, Prince lived opposite Westport
      Point onthe Horse Neck, where he had a salt works using water from the
      river. He wasa cooper by trade. After the War, he bought a farm on the
      East side of the Westport River about 2 miles below Westport Village. He
      worked the farm and made casks for the New Bedford whale oil trade.
