Aunt Margarette, I received your letter a number of days ago and was
glad to hear from you., but was surprised to hear that Unclewas dead. I
have thought for a long time, but wondered why some of his sonsdid not
write and tell us of his death, but death will come upon us sooner or
later, and if we are prepared then it is all right. We are well. Father
and Mother are well for them. Libda's folks are all well. Linda is the
girl aunt Lovina left when she died. Linda lost 2 children 2 years ago
this spring with diphtheria, 1 girl 14 years, and a boy 6 years old.
A few years ago Ilost 3 children with scarlet fever all in one week,
and just 2 years ago I lost my wife, and that turned me out doors so I
had to leave my home. I wentto OH. Was gone 8 months and worked by day
work. Came back lived alone almost 3 years, the got married. I have had
4 wives, my first one died, and leftme 3 children. I lived alone with
them 4 years, then I got married. In 8 months she left me. I have not
seen her since. Got married again and she4 lived with me 19 years, the
she died of consumption. After that I lived alone3 years. Now I am
married again for the last time. I hope. We have a boy 4years old. Now
