- John, Oliver's father, was born about 1681 and married Little Compton, 8 JAN 1702, Martha Graves, born 1680, daughter of John and Martha (Mitton) Graves of Cascoe, ME. He was a Cord-wainer. His mother was Mary Rouse, daughter of John and Anna (Pabodie) Rouse. She died in 1698 and is buried in Little Compton Old Commons cemetery. His wife, Martha Graves, was the daughter of John and Martha (Mitton) Graves, who was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Cleves) Mitton, who was the daughter of George Cleves, the founder of Portland, ME. Martha Grave's sister came to Little Compton also and married William Bailey.
