  Wardwell Family Cemetery (Town of Ledyard) #97 Located about 1200 feet north of the road on the Harold Giles Farm. Plot is 30' x 30' , enclosed by a woven wire fence in good condition. There is no gate in the fence , which is supported by eight limestone posts , said to be mowed once a year by someone from Auburn. A large monument 8' tall has the following inscriptions: WARDWELL ,DAVID T. D. JUNE 22, 1859 72Y-9M-18D WARDWELL , DELILAH D. SEPT. 16, 1836 52Y-2M-8D WARDWELL , MORGAN G. D. DEC. 13, 1885 75Y-5M-18D WARDWELL , CAROLINE D. SEPT. 5, 1875 57Y-11M-27D WARDWELL , CAROLINE A. dau. of M. & C. D. MAY 24, 1870 20Y-4M-23D Small carved stone " In Memory of Delilah " wifeof David T. Wardwell who died Sept. 16, 1836 http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycayuga/cem/cem97.htm Living in Fayette, NY at 1850 census. In Ledyard at 1860census with real estate valued at $4000. Living in Ledyard at 1870 (Farm valued at $6000 and Personal Assets $2500) and 1880 census with 12 year old stepsonAlbert Lockwood.
