- --Came as a boy with family in 1880 on a train to Ewing, NE, where father tookthem in a covered wagon to a homestead at Inman, NE
--He and his brother Chas,bought 160 acres, called "Timber Claim," from their parents in 1899. Later he bought out his brother's share for $550. They had to set out 10 acres of trees,fence the land, build a house, and dig a well in order to get the land from thegovt.
--Andrus worked in Burt Co in 1899 where he met & married Nellie Freeman. They went back to Inman, living there until 1912, returning to Burt Co.
--Hewas an active member of Presby. Church.
--Children: Walter, Agnes, James Clifford, Lois.
