Brooklyn, December 3, 1828
Sir, Your eldest daughter is sufficiently advanced in the common branches of education to commence the study of geography, a very useful and agreeable study for the youth of both sexes.
The geography I should recommend is one of Jacob Willetts' compiling being it shows an appenidice and an atlas containing seven Mapes (maps). I shall send the geography and the maps so that you
may judge for yourself of the merritts of the work. ____ in hope I shall be able to introduce it with this school it being cheap the
geography and atlas can be obtained in Cleveland for you. ___ being lower than any other of equal utility by one half. My thinking it would be a benefit to your children as the _____________ of my writing this from ___________
                                                              C. Morgan

[NOTE: The letter writer is probably the headmaster of Brooklyn Academy and is writing Ebenezer about his eldest daughter's (Eliza Ann) progress at school and giving his recommendation for further studies.
