Developed:

About 1895, when Leonard Pixley started selling off parts of his farm.

Lots 02 and 33 thru 36 on Pixley Street (later known as West 21st St.) and lots 39 thru 54 on Hazelwood St. (later known as West 20th St.) were purchased in 1899 by William A. Geist, the president of the "William A. Geist Lumber Co." at 155 Leonard and the corner of Columbus Street. Geist, born about 1851, was the husband of Wilhelmine (Minnie) Suhr and father of William C., Ida, and Clara. His residence was a large house and property that sat at 2017 Denison Ave. (#481 in the old style numbering). He died in January of 1930.
