Diebold Mallo was a German or Frenchman from Alsace[1], born approximately 1821. Married first to Anna Rauch of Wurtenburg, Germany. After her death he then married Elizabeth Wagner.

By 1881, he was operating a glue factory where Willowdale Avenue now exists.

Diebold died in Colebrook, Ohio in 1907.

His son, David, lived at 10 Willowdale Avenue in 1900. In new style addressing, this would be 2321 Willowdale.
