In the early 1900's, there were several Shanor family bands in PA. The most famous was the "Woodmen Of The World Band" from Rochester in 1910. This band was sponsored by the H. C. Fry Glass Co. Joe Shanor's dad and mom both worked at that company and that is where they met. The band traveled all over the northeastern U.S.
