unsuccessfully to find Clarissa, as there is a copy of the publication
notice which ran for 6 wks inthe newspaper, Albany Argus. Publication
beginning 3/19/1830 and sworn to 4/23/1830. She was last known to be
married to Asa Ackley and living in Brooklyn, Cuyahoga Co., OHIO (on the
outskirts of Cleveland). She had not been found as of 5/3/1830 when
Demmon Rowley, co-executor of the estate, signed off on the services done
for all other heirs.

2) DOD - extrapolatedfrom Father Ithamar Rowley's will, in which
she is stated to be deceased andher husband George Gates signs
Guardianship papers to represent the 4 minor (of a total of 8) children.
I cannot ascertain from the papers, where they were living, other than
that it may have been in the area, as George signed several papers as
Guardian, and all of the dates are close to the dates of the signatures
of other heirs known to be living in and near Schoharie Co.

assuming it was in thesame area, Schoharie/Otsego Counties, NY

Will. Filed Nov. 14, 1860
To the County Judge of the County of Schoharie: The Petition of
Alfred W. Rowley of the townof Seward in the county of Schoharie
respectfully showeth: That lately, andon or about the 24th day of
September one thousand eight hundred and sixty, Demmon Rowley died at the
town of Seward in the county of Schoharie, being atthe time of his death
an inhabitant of said County: That the said deceased left a certain
instrument in writing, purporting to be his last Will and Testament,
bearing date the 22nd day of August A.D. 1857, and relates to both real
and personal estate: Your Petitioner verily believes said instrument to
bethe last Will and Testament of the said Demmon Rowley deceased, and
that thesaid petitioner is a son of the said deceased and one of the
executors namedin the will.
The said deceased left him surviving the following persons, whose
names and places of residence are stated, except where the same have not
been ascertained, upon diligent inquiry, and being unknown are not
stated, towit:
Jane Rowley his widow residing in the town of Seward, Schoharie
County,Nelson G. Rowley his son, Alfred W. Rowley son of deceased in
Seward, Schoharie County, Melinda Barber wife of John H. Barber, daughter
of said deceased,at Osborn in the State of Illinois - Hiram S. Rowley of
