  1. Willis C FISH b. 3 Mar 1827, Otisco, Onondaga Co., New York; d. Aft 1880.

    Notes:
    inherited father Uriah's farm in Otisco
    Schoolteacher for 2 terms, then farmed
    Joined Onondaga Baptist Church at age 21
    There is much info on Willis in "History of Onondaga County, NY 1615-1878" Onondaga Public Library p. 351-352

    Excerpt from will of his father:
    "I Uriah Fish being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last
    will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I will and
    direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid. Second I give
    and bequeath to my daughter Eliza Bishop the sum of one dollar. Third I give and
    bequeath to my daughter Louisa Wells the sum of one hundred. Fourth I give and
    bequeath to my sons Davis Fish, John Fish, Samuel Fish and Myndert Fish Each
    their heirs and assignees the sum of three hundred dollars each within six years
    after the decease of myself and wife Lovina Fish. Fifth and I do give a
    bequeath to my wife Lovina Fish the use of all the remainder of my real estate
    and I do further bequeath to my wife Lovina Fish all my personal property during
    her natural life to dispose of and do with as she pleases and after her demise
    do give and bequeath the said remainder of my estate both real and personal to
    my son Willis Fish and I do hereby ... "

    An article about Albert M Fish, a nephew contains the following about Willis and can be found in "A Standard History of Erie County, Ohio", edited by Hewson L Peek and published in 1916. A copy can be found in the Milan Public Library in Milan, Ohio:
    "Willis C was the favorite son, was made heir to the old homestead, but his fine sense of justice prompted him to break the will and by his own election the estate was divided in equal shares amoung all the children; he married but had no descendants."
