  1. Russell James "Gruss" HOAG b. 7 Jan 1909; d. 16 Oct 1994, Jacksonville,St. Johns Co.,Florida.

    Notes:
1 NOTE Gruss was Army Intelligence. After he left the Army, he was"Russ Hoag, the Corrugated Metal Pipe Man."

His pride and joy was his yard. He was always mowing, trimming, weeding, or something!! The property was beautiful because ofhis "doins." I can still see him pushing the double blademower (no power for him!) wearing only shorts and shoes, andmoving the sprinklers. And, I can still smell the sulphurwater!

He and Gramie moved to Wesley Manor, a retirement village, outside Jacksonville. He was "mayor" for some time. Heremained there, even after Gramie died in 1981.
