  1. William David BOLT b. 31 Jul 1841, Boltsfork, Kentucky; d. 23 Oct 1919, Boltsfork, Kentucky.

    Notes:
    Alias: W.D. /Bolt/

    W.D. Bolt was born and raised at Boltsfork and ran a grist mill & saw
    mill for over 50 years. At first he had a steam engine but later he got
    a gasoline engine. People from all around thatneighborhood brought corn
    to the mill to be ground into meal. He also couldcrush corn, cob and
    all, and make chap corn. People would also haul their logs there to be
    sawed into lumber. He also had a store building and a blacksmith shop
    which he rented. People from all around came there to the store and
    blacksmith shop. Besides the mills, store, and blacksmith shop,
    Boltsforkhad a church, and Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges.
    W.D. Bolt was never sick enough to be bedfast until about 3 weeks before
    he died. The doctor thought he had dropsy. His eye sight was good, he
    only wore glasses to read. At thetime of his death he owned 90 acres of
    land at Boltsfork. It extended some in Lawrence County, but all joined.
    William David Bolt fought with Union Army in the Civel War between North
    and South in 1860. He was in the march throughGeorgia, but didn't go
    all the way to sea because he got discharged before they reached the
    coast.
