Others in household include his son Zinna L., age 25, his daughter Cora, age 16, his son Jay, age 13, and an infant son whose name appears to be Burton. Both Cora and Jay were listed as being at school.

    After Ida Mae's death Zina (known as William) gave over the care of the remaining children to Ida's sister, and along with his oldest son Grover left for Fayette Co., IL. Where in 1900 he shows up in that county's census as William Brainard, a widower, with his son Grover. Zina (aka William) is listed as a grocer. After his death, his son Grover went on to join a wild west show and travel before returning to his native Michigan
