BRIAN PENDLETON AND HIS DESCENDANTS, 1599-1910, Compiled by Everett Hallpage 22.
    22. Hannah-4 Pendleton (Edmund-3), was baptized 28th July 1700(First Church of Stonington, Conn.), and died in 1751, at Westerly, RI.She married James Britton, of Dighton, Mass. That he was the James-5Britton, son of William-4 and Lydia (Leonard) Britton, and grandson ofWilliam and [6] Mary -3 (Pendleton) Britton, or Bretton, seems evidentfrom the facts that on the 3rd of June 1733, he, "James Brettan ofBristol [County], Mass.," was given a deed by Caleb-3 Pendleton to allthe latter's rights in the estate of his grandfather, Brian Pendleton, and of his father, James Pendleton (Rockingham Co., NH Deeds, xx, 228),and that in the settlement of his own estate, of which his widow wasappointed administratrix, 19th October, 1736, Caleb "Pendleton" was paid24 pounds, William "Brittain" 12 pounds, and Ebenezer "Brittain" 7 pounds13 shillings. (Bristol Co., Mass., Probate Rec., x, 172). William andEbenezer Britton, as shown in our account of [6] Mary-3 (Pendleton)Britton-Cross-Morey, were sons of William-4 and Lydia (Leonard) Britton, and as far as the records show no brittons were living in Dighton orTaunton at this period except the descendants of [6] Mary-3.
The will of Hannah-4 (Pendleton) Britton, dated at Westerly, RI,25th July, 1751, probated 26th August, 1751 (C.& P. Rec. iii, 270), gave8 pounds 8s, to aunt Anna Jones, rest of estate to daughter Hannah; incase Hannah died without issue, estate to go to brother Edmund Pendleton, and sisters Mary, Dorothy and Rebecca. Oliver Steward was named asexecutor. The inventory amounted to 715 pounds, 19s, 10d.
