    Notes taken from "Scranton Republican"June 23 and June 24, 1890: Joseph was born July 15, 1800, in Slocum Hollow, orUnionville; services from residence of sons 902 Slocum; married Elida Bingham on 22 Dec 1830; she was daughter of Rodolphus
    and Sarah Bingham, Palmyra, PikeCounty. Elida was born in Dec. 1805 and was living at Joseph's death; his wifeand son Joseph W. Slocum survive.
