Henry Sater,the planter,was born of English Parents In western shire of England.In 1709,during the time of Queen Anne,at the age of 19,he left Engand and landed in 1710 at Little York,or Smith Port,Va.First landing in Va.he subsequently,settled in MD.and established his plantation Chestnut Ridge about 2 miles northof Brooklands on the Falls Road(MDRoute 25)(Near Lutherville,MD)It was here heMarried Dorcus Towson.In 1742 he deeded the land to build the first Baptist Church with the bricks brought over from England as ships ballast.The Sater's Baptist Church was deeded to the Baptist Denomination."to the end of the world" Heis buried in the churchyard

According to the story Benjamin Howard was employed by Mr.Sater(probably GeorgeSater)in weaving cloth on hand looms since there were bo factories and it waswhile thus engaged the young lady fell in love with him.Benjamin and his wife moved to North Carolina where the progenitors of a long line of descndants in the States of North Carolina,Mississippi,Tennessee,Alabama,Georgia,Texas and INdiana.

No particular reason is given for thr elopement of Discretion Sater.Thomas Walker her husband was born in Baltimore,but shortly after his marriage he became afarmer and finally moved to Westminister,in Carroll Cty;where he remained until his death in 1818.He left all his worldly possessions to his wife Discrtion and she was made sole executrix.Among his possessions was his plantetion and tract of land in the forks of Pato Falls,called Society Hills,another tract Zebulon's Fancy and still another Walker's Paradise.all adjoining in Baltimore Cty.MDThe Walker family has a distinguised record and is of English Origin
