    Notes:
    William was granted a forty-foot square lot next to the prison house fora shop by the Town of Providence on Jan. 27, 1703-04. William also kepta tavern for which he received a license from 1717-1722. In 1720-22 heand partners were proprietors of the tavern and vittleing house atReoping. William served with the Main Land TRroop of Horse in the FirstProvidence Company. He had also served in the Militia as at the time ofhis death he was called Lieutenant William Edmunds. He was also ablacksmith by trade. No mention is made in William's will of owning atavern, so he must have sold it before his death.
    On Feb. 14, 1715, William and his wife Alice sold to Zachariah Jones aforty-foot lot for 300 pounds, situated on the west side of the highwayleading to corn mill on the east side of river or cove that goes tomill. The sale included dwelling house and also half of rights tocommon. In 1724 William was a Deputy.

    Vital Records of Rhode Island, Arnold Collection, has Joseph's birthdaythe same as Patience, and Patience is not listed.
    Joseph became a freeman in 1710 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. He wasa deputy in 1718, and assistant 1747-48 and 1758-59. His will was provedon June 15, 1767, executor, son Andrew.
