    Notes:
    He volunteered as a private at the out break of the war of the rebellion rose to rank of Major. He was wounded 4 times during the war. at the close he received a commission as lieutenant in the regular army and served in the Indian county; has since attained the rank of Captain; He was head of the Military department of Clinton Liberal and Military Institute at Fort Plain New York.
