  1. George Maxwell WILKINSON b. 9 Jan 1809, Parish of Covel and near Dumfries, Galloway County, Scotland.

    Notes:
    At the age of nineteen he enlisted in the 2nd Batallion of Rifle Brigarde, on 21 Apr 1828 at Dumfries; served 8 years and was honorably discharged on account of disability, 1 Jun 1836. He sailed for America in 1837. 19 Feb 1841 he received papers making him a citizen of the United States. He was a captain on the Lakes until 1861 and then became a farmer. The children were born in Amboy, NY.
