Generation: 2
  1. Albert (Wojciech) NOWAK, (Novak) Descendancy chart to this point (1.Joseph1) b. 1885, ,, Poland; d. 26 Nov 1944, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.

    Notes:
    RESIDENCES:
1942 - 3728 Jennings Ave., Cleveland, Ohio (as noted on his brother, John's, WWII draft registration card). Same address appears on the death certificate for Albert. I couldn't find him at this address in the 1920 or the 1930 census or the city directory for 1940, so he may have lived elsewhere or came to the U.S. after 1930.

    OCCUPATION:
1942 - laborer at Globe Stamping

    DEATH:
Nephritis. Informant was Victoria Oprzadek of 1424 Botany Ave. Why her? Were they related somehow? Was she Albert's daughter, sister, sister-in-law,, or a cousin? Albert wife was already deceased prior to 1944 because his death certificate lists him as a widower. We don't know her maiden name.

    BURIAL:
    Calvary Cemetery.

    OBIT:
None found in the Cleveland Press.

Albert m. Zofia (or Sophia) Zofia b. Abt 1890; d. Bef 1944. [Group Sheet]

  2. John Joseph NOWAK, (Novak) Descendancy chart to this point (1.Joseph1) b. 15 May 1895, Jasolno,, Poland; d. 3 Jul 1942, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.

    Notes:
    BIRTH:
The date he gave for the World War II draft was the 14 May 1895. His brother Albert gave a date of 18 Dec 1895 for the death certificate.

    RESIDENCES:
    1942 - 3728 Jennings Ave., Cleveland, Ohio

Brother of Albert Novak of the same address

    OCCUPATION:
    Laborer in chemical works.

    MARRIAGE:
None -- single at the time he died.

    DEATH:
Advanced tuberculosis. Silicosis. (the chemical works he was employed at was probably hazardous to his health!)
