George D. Pitkin began business in the dry-goods trade; was of the firm of "Lee & Case"; later, "Wm. H. Lee & Co." He afterwards commenced the firm of "Butler, Pitkin & Co." The last seventeen years, till his death, he was President of the "East New York Boot and Shoe Manufacturing Company"of New York. He was trustee of the Presbyterian Church of Yonkers, N.Y. Residence Yonkers, N.Y.
