Here is a brief history of the Lewis Main family written by JosieMain Grubaugh. Lewis was Stafford County Register of Deeds for severalyears. He later owned and operated a farm one mile north of Stafforduntil 1915 when the family moved to Dodge City, where he resided untilhis death early in 1946. Mrs. Main died a few years later.

Ida worked in a bank in Stafford a number of years before moving toDodge City in 1915 where she worked in an office or bank until her healthfailed. She died at the May Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota of braincancer.

Amy taught grade school in Stafford Co., Kansas. After moving toDodge City she served two terms as County Treasurer of Ford County. Shealso worked several years in the Probate Judges office. She died ofcancer.

Claude worked a number of years with a little theater group. Hemarried twice but had no children. He sand his last wife Esther wereliving in Bay City, California at the time of his death some time after1965.
