    Notes:
    ~CORRESPONDENCE: From: "Joyce Wanzer"
Dad served 2 years in the US Army in the railroad division. He spent time in the Skagway, Alaska area, and ended up in Louisiana, where he was discharged. He met my mother in January and they married on May 2, 1945. He spent his entire life working for the railroad, living in Cleveland again for a few short months, then moving back to Louisiana. He loved his work. In addition, he became a Baptist minister. That's what happens when you marry a Southern Baptist woman, lol. We moved many times, living in Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas and Kansas. We moved to Coffeyville, KS in 1960 and dad retired from the railroad (Missouri Pacific) after an injury at 58. A boxcar door slid off the track and landed on him, cracking vertabrae and breaking both of his legs. The doctors said the only thing that saved his life was his hard hat. If you can imagine, I have lived in 34 houses in 55 years.

    ~CORRESPONDENCE: From: "Joyce Wanzer"
I'd be very interested in seeing a copy of my dad's birth certificate because he spoke of children other than he and Steve. In fact, he said his mother had a baby in bed with her, rolled over and the baby suffocated. So, if they listed number of births on birth certificates back then, that # would be interesting to see. For some reason my dad thought there were seven children....some girls who had died from whooping cough?????
