    Tangled Roots reads on page 18:
    Charles came with his father to Gaspereau, N.S. in 1760. they lived on the east side of the road, at the foot of the mountain. Little information, other then he was a farmer. He removed from Graspereau to Shepody, N.B. where he died prior to 24 Aug 1815; the date of the codicil of his father's will in which his name is mentioned, at Lower Wolfville, N.S. He married twice. First around 1777

    born 1778 in Gaspereau, NS died And buried in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. Canada
    He is mentioned in the will of this grandfather, Colonel John Biship, in the codicil dated 24 Aug 1815,, as having already received the full proportion of his father's share of the the grandfather's estate. He was one of the
    members of the first Kings Agricultural society, formed 10 Dec 1789. Robert move to Prince Edward Island. Canada and then to Richibucto, New Brunswick. He then later returned to Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. Most of his family was born in Nova Scotia. He married twice first to: Margaret Boyle (b? on the voyage of her parents from Ireland to Halifax: D? in Halifax.) then to Richibucto, New Brunswick. He then later returned to Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. Canada. Most of his family was born in Nova Scotia.

As Charles was a very common name in this family, some confusion has arisen in the identification of the various individuals, and it is possible that this Charles was a sea captain or a blacksmith.{ Theodore H Bishop his nephew stated that his uncle went to Frederickton - told to W VE Boggs aurthor of the Bishop/Boggs Geneology Book. Charles was elected M.P.P. in Frederickton He had a son charles whom he established as a silk merchant in Brooklyn, NY

    Notes:
    In 1851 the family began it's long journey to America, first traveling by boat to Baltimore Maryland. From there they went to Princeton Illinois by boat, to Baltimore, then by wagon train and oxen they moved overland to Princeton, where they stayed for 2 years. In 1855, searching for a new home they again travelle by wagon train and oxen came by wagon train to Trout Brook, Wabasha, Minnesota. After resting they looked over the land searching for a place to build their home, finally settling in Bear Valley, Wabasha, Minnesota.

    In June of 1855, the family homestead one fourth of section 33 in Chester Township. The Davis', true American pioneers, traveled from Princeton with the Jones family. Sometime after the death of her husband William in 1864, Amelia moved to Atkinson, Holt County, Nebraska where she lived out the remainder of her life.

    Notes:
    James Anderson Davis was the first of his family to immigrate to America from Nova Scotia. Sometime after his arrival he met Arianna Wyman. They married in 1854 in Solon, Maine. It seems James wanted to stayed close to parent's & siblings as the migrated about America. Eventually the Davis clan joined a wagon train and landed in Bear Valley, Wabasha County, Minnesota where the family patriarch William Davis died in 1864.

    According to family writings, "His brother Miner once said, 'I never knew my brother Jim until we came to the states. He was older, grew up first and was the first to come.' Also records show that he was married in Solon, Maine to Arina Wyman who was born on December 18, 1834 in Maine. He did it seems, migrate to Minnesota with the rest of the family, and made his home on a farm.     Davis, Robert H., farmer, became a resident of this county at the same time as his parents, as above stated. His farm embraces one hundred and twenty-seven acres, the residence standing on section 34. This is part of the claim taken in 1855. His birth occurred January 2, 1833, in St. Martin's parish, New Brunswick. The various removals of his father's family since that time describe his own. In April, 1858, he married Maria, relict of Charles Armstrong, and daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Corcer;
    she was born in Linden, Vermont, in 1827. In February, 1864, Mr. Davis enlisted in the United States service and was assigned to Brackett's cavalry battalion, serving on the plains until May, 1866. The youngest three of his children are at home, the others as below noted: Walter, born November 5, 1848, Atkinson, Nebraska; Sarah, February, 1859, now wife of Thomas Jones, Cavalier, Dakota; Frederick, December, 1861, same place; Mary, April, 1864, wife of Philemon Irwin, at Dunville, Wisconsin; Gladys, March, 1867; Frank, March, 1869; Georgiana, August, 1871.
