The reason for naming this street, Hapgood, is unknown. After all north/south streets in Cleveland were renamed in 1906, it became West 16th Street
It was formerly a part of the Kees & Bruch's Valley View Allotment which was owned by William H. KEES and his wife Caroline, and F.W. Bruch and his wife Emma.
