Township 7, Range 13, Original Lot 65, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio
Between West 25th Street and Fulton Avenue.

Named for:

Botanical name possibly used due to the trees that were prevalent in the area. Just across the way from Terrace St. (later renamed to Willowdale Avenue) and Forest St. (later renamed to Forestdale Avenue).


Notes:

Early settler James Fish built his log cabin at what later became the Northwest corner of West 25th and Mapledale. His subsequent frame house was moved a sublot west and turned to face Mapledale.
This corner now houses the Third Church of Christ Scientist.
