Named for:

The earlier name of Oak Street is obviously a more descriptive name of the trees that were common in the area.
At some point, Oak was renamed to Grandview. The new name a good indication that the view southwestward across the Big Creek valley was grand indeed. Now that the trees on the hill have reached maturity and the street is full of houses, the view isn't much to speak of anymore.
